Thermostats

Please enter your car details on the left to be able to view specific car parts.

The car thermostat is used to maintain the core temperature of the engine by regulating the flow of coolant to the radiator. Filled with wax that begins to melt at around 180F, a rod is connected to the valve pressing into this wax. As it melts it expands and the rod is pushed out of the cylinder opening the valve. The car thermostat acts as a cooling valve, helping to keep the engine warm safely and cool efficiently and serves to reduce wear, deposits and emissions.
