Transmission
In general terms, transmission provides speed and torque conversions from a rotating power source using gear ratios. For your vehicle, the term applies to the gearbox, clutch, prop shaft and drive shafts, and adapts the output of the internal combustion engine to the wheels. Transmission systems manage gear ratio between the engine and the drive wheels to prevent torque and rpm problems damaging the engine.
